Smart, funny, wonderful fun
I was surfing Hulu for something interesting to watch one morning and came across a couple of episodes of BUNHEADS, a new series on ABCFamily (which of course is NOT available on our local cable channel.) Anyway--I was quickly hooked. The premise is that slightly aging (as in 30's rather than 20's) dancer MICHELLE (played by Foster) is tired of her sellout life as a Vegas dancer, but when she is summarily rejected sight seen by the director of a traveling production of Chicago, she marries her stagedoor Johnny suitor in a drunken moment of self-pity and wakes up to find herself on the way to her new home in the small Coastal town of Paradise, California. Once there she discovers that HUBBLE (her new husband) shares his house with his mother--an aging ex-dancer/artist who now runs a dance studio (primarily ballet--hence the name BUNHEADS) for the local children. There is comedy. There is tragedy. The dialogue is smart and snappy like a Broadway musical, and if you aren't paying...
Lots of fun!
I really love this show. Smart, quick dialogue. The girls are adorable. I highly recommend it to all my friends.
LOVE
It's basically Gilmore Girls reincarnated. And that, I'm definitely ok with.
Love this show, the humor, the cast, the set...love it all.
